DELIBERATE ACTION PLAN. (DAP)A deliberate action plan is a method of pre-planning and early reaction to a confrontation situations. Pre-planning involves the following; 1. Knowing your routines. routes of escape from frequently visited locations, places where help can be found, it is far better to escape from a confrontation towards a point of safety, then to run to an unknown area. 2. Learning skills, such as self defence or communication skills. 3. Having and knowing how to use objects of advantage for example a phot to call for help, bags, books etc to use as a potential shield or any other object the could be used to self defence. Early reaction to confrontation involves being aware of the potential danger and taking action to diffuse the situations prior to contact with the other party, such as, 1. Changing location. 2. Changing direction or path of travel 3. Looking for help. 4. Looking for an escape route, see above 5. having a planned verbal and mental response to any engagement or challenge. 6. Having a planned physical response. 7. Continual observations. 8. Continual evaluation. A Deliberate Action Plan required thought and practice. The DAP is used as soon as trouble is detected. If you have practiced the skills contained within 'Train Your Brain 1' any potential confrontation has been detected early. If the DAP is unable to diffuse the situation the next step is the Immediate Action Plan, IAP. For more details about the IAP, click here. The DAP is an important part of the 'Train Your Brain 1' program, if you would like to know more contact us and get a copy of Train Your Brain 1. Click here |
