Bukido Kai: Bushido Grading.Bushido means 'Way of the Warrior'. In Bukido Kai, Bushido signifies the strength, discipline and determination required to pass the black belt test. The Bushido gradings are where prospective black belts are tested in the three elements of Bukido Kai, Mind, Body and Spirit. CRT stands for Combat Reality Training as refers to the combat mind set that is developed on CRT. Prior to 2012 there were two distinct types of Bushido grading within the Bukido Kai system. These gradings were known as the mid year Bushido and Bushido CRT. As of 2012 the mid year Bushido grading has been replaced with a Sempai Do (Senior Way). There will no longer be a black belt grading for adults at the mid year Sempai Do, all adult black belt gradings will occur on Bushido CRT. Students 16 to 18 years can grade to black belt on Sempai Do. Students under 16 years can grade to black belt at the end of year grading in December. From 2012 mid year Sempai Do is held over a weekend in June, commencing on Saturday morning and concluding on Sunday afternoon. The Bushido CRT grading is held over the long week end in October, commencing at 7pm on Thursday night at Jamisontown and then recommencing on Friday night at Colo Heights and concluding on the following Monday. Both of the Sempai Do and Bushido CRT are also open to Kyu grades who wish to take the challenge. Both consist of a double grading for those Kyu grades.
