Bukido Kai Black Belts.

Over the years many thousands of people from every walks of life have trained with Bukido Kai. Very few of these students have achieved black belt. Some left as training became too hard or demanding, others found it did not provide what they were looking for and some moved out of the area, interstate or overseas.

There have been instances of past students claiming that they are or have been Bukido Kai black belts when in fact they were yellow, green or blue belts, this has prompted us to display the list of people who have been or are currently graded to black belt within Bukido Kai. If any martial artist claims they are a Bukido Kai black belt and they are not on this list, please send me an email with their name and telephone number, I will be happy to chat to them.  If you believe that your name should appear on this list and has been omitted, please send me an email so that it may be rectified.

The following people can properly lay claim to having been awarded a black belt within the Bukido Kai system.

Bold Black type denotes that this person is currently training and is recognised as an active Black belt within the Bukido Kai system, all others have achieved black belt but are either no longer training or have not maintained their skills to a sufficient level so as to be consider to be an active black belt, they are considered as non active or former Bukido Kai black belts.

Non Active black belts: A black belt is considered as 'non active' if they have not attended sufficient classes or training days conducted by Shihan in the preceeding six months. Non active black belts are ineligible to wear their belts in class or grade further until they are considered as active at the discretion of the Chief Instructor.

Former black belt: A black belt is considered to be a 'former black belt' if it is apparent due to their lack of attendance in class or at training days that they are no longer training within the system. Former black belts are ineligible to wear their belts in class or grade further until they re-grade for their previous rank, this garding is conducted at the discretion of the Chief Instructor.

Black belt status is achieved at Shodan level, provisional black belts are in reality black belt candidates who have completed the Kyu grades and are moving through the entry requirements to be considered as a black belt.

* indicates the people that wear the Bukido Kai medallion.  The medallion is awarded by Shihan in recognition of service and dedication to the Bukido Kai. 

Junior indicates that the black belt or former black belt is or was under 18 yrs at the time they received the grade.
